Caban-Martinez Lab
Environmental and Occupational Health Research, Musculoskeletal Disorders, Firefighter Health and Safety, Cancer Control & Prevention, Biomonitoring, and Exposure Assessment
Welcome
to our research lab...
Our research aims to conduct robust occupational and environmental health surveillance activities and provide rigorous scientific evidence about effective ways to reduce work-related illness, injury and improve the well-being of worker populations. We focus on finding ways to promote safe work practices, healthy behaviors and healthy work environments. We are especially concerned about redressing disparities across various health and safety conditions, whether by race/ethnicity, gender or occupation.
Research is led by Dr. Alberto Caban-Martinez, Professor (tenured) of Public Health Sciences, Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Director of the Environmental and Occupational Health Lab in the Division of Environment and Public Health in the Department of Public Health Sciences, University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Caban-Martinez also co-directs the Miami Occupational Research Group (MORG) at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.
