Dr. Caban-Martinez leads a highly collaborative, interdisplinary team of researchers in the area of environmental and occupational health with a focus on musculoskeletal disorders and occupational health disparties. 

Charles "Charlie" Chen
Research Assistant

Mr. Charles Chen, BS is a gradudate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.  He provides research support in the Building Occupational Lessons in Toxic crystalline Silica (BOLTS) Pilot Study.

Henry A. Olano
Project Director and Research Assistant

Mr. Henry Olano, MPH is a recent gradudate of the Master of Public Health program at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.  He co-leads the Building Occupational Lessons in Toxic crystalline Silica (BOLTS) Pilot Study as well as provides research support to Dr. Caban-Martinez on other research projects. 

Samuel Huntley
Research Assistant

Mr. Samuel "Sam" Huntley, BS is a first-year MD/MPH at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.  He is conducting epidemiologic surveillance research in occupational health and safety and musculoskeletal disorders using data from the Preventing Every Construction workers Knee (PECK) study. 

Joshua Sznol
Programmer / Biostatistician

Mr. Joshua "Josh" Sznol, BS is a second-year Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) student at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He provides statistical programming and research support in the Building Occupational Lessons in Toxic crystalline Silica (BOLTS) Pilot Study.

Xuan "April" Yang
Programmer / Biostatistician

Ms. April Yang is a Programmer / Biostatistician in the Department of Public Health Sciences at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an MPH and MHS in Health Economics.  She provides statistical programming and research support across various research projects.

Research Support Specialist

Ms. Katerina Santiago, MPH, is a Research Support Specialist in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, and a Ph.D. student in Chronic Disease Epidemiology at Yale University, School of Public Health. She earned her MPHS from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. She is interested in cancer epidemiology and prevention, health equity in vulnerable populations, and occupational safety and health.

Mr. Christian Rojas is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Miami. As a Research Assistant, he assists Dr. Caban-Martinez and other lab partners on the RECOVER project.
